Meet Marcel Powers

All About Me

My path to personal training wasn’t traditional. I grew up in New Jersey with a deep interest in science and earned a degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Forensics from The College of New Jersey. I thought I’d spend my days in a lab, making a difference through research – but life had other plans.

 

While working in the lab after graduation, I stayed active and trained to get stronger and faster for professional rugby. I saw progress through hiring a personal trainer, but the results didn’t carry over like I’d hoped. Instead, I found myself battling frequent injuries–pulled muscles, a broken shoulder, a broken foot, and growing imbalances that left me feeling disconnected from my body. That’s when I realized I needed to take control of my own physical health.

 

Driven to rehab myself, I dove into physical therapy courses, research articles, and books on movement and body mechanics. I wanted to truly understand where things were breaking down–and how to fix them. Along the way, my personal trainer encouraged me to get certified. That decision sparked a career shift I never saw coming.

 

One year into part-time training, I left the lab behind and pursued personal training full-time. Helping others transform their bodies–and reconnecting with themselves–was the kind of fulfillment I hadn’t found in the lab. After the pandemic hit, I doubled down, launched my own business, and carved out a niche rooted in intentional movement.

 

To me, it’s not just about strength or looks. It’s about moving with purpose, staying connected to your body, and building a lifestyle that supports long-term wellness.

 

When I’m not coaching, you’ll find me traveling, hiking, running, playing rugby, or chasing sunsets. I live for movement, adventure, and that spark of energy that comes from living life fully–and I bring that same energy to every training session.
